How to programmatically delete items in a SharePoint list

I was looking for a way to programmatically delete items in a SharePoint list, and I found this great post by DevExpert:

http://www.devexpertise.com/2009/02/04/deleting-list-items-in-a-sharepoint-list/

The author outlines four incorrect methods for doing it, and one correct method. It turns out that you need to use a For loop with a decrementing counter, like this:

for (int i = list.Items.Count - 1; i >= 0; i--) {
    list.Items.Delete(i);
}

Great post!

Compare editions of SharePoint Server 2010 – Foundation vs. Standard vs. Enterprise

Recently, I was trying to confirm whether “Enterprise Wiki” template is available in SharePoint Server 2010 Standard, and I came across this cool Microsoft site (for some reason, it was difficult to find with a search engine, so I’m posting it here, for my benefit, and for yours):

http://sharepoint.microsoft.com/en-us/buy/Pages/Editions-Comparison.aspx

This is a single-page site, easy to navigate, and very detailed. I sure wish I had it with MOSS 2007! 🙂
